“Magical. Exciting. Invigorating. Stunning – An absolute blast” – are just some of the fantastic comments from our delighted visitors once they paddle our Wild Burren tour with us.

By far our most popular tour – we spend our time on the water around the quaint village of Ballyvaughan, with clear views into Galway City, and in the shadow of the limestone mountains of the Burren – this tour is an unforgettable experience!

We have five different paddling locations from the meeting point in Ballyvaughn.

As we explore the rugged coastline, including small inlets and tidal islands, we are often greeted by friendly seals and magnificent sea birds, as well as the underwater beauty that the crystal clear water affords us.

Delve into Irish history as we paddle to the ruins of Gleninagh Castle and it’s nearby Holywell. Here we might take a break from the kayaks to wander the ancient grounds or we might stop on a nearby sandy beach that becomes an island on a high tide.

This is a tour not to be missed! Whether experienced paddler or not, this tour is perfect for all levels and ages!

note :
All tours are weather dependent.

We can accommodate families and children as young as 10 in our 3 tandem kayaks. We can put together packages for team building, stags, hens and family groups.

Recently went on a tour with North Clare Sea kayaking and couldn’t fault the experience - definitely a highlight of the holiday! Very personable and friendly instructor, punctual, efficient, immaculately organised and very knowledgeable about the local history, wildlife and people. I had a wonderful experience, spotting a seal colony, having my toes nibbled by crabs (yes, that was a highlight!) and was treated to incredible views of Connemara, Galway City, the Martello Towers and Galway bay. The tour starts in Ballyvaughan and even the journey down was stunning, right through the grikes and limestone pavements of the Burren. A treat from beginning to end and would be delighted to participate again. Also very impressed with the ability to accommodate families of all ages, as my group contained families with both teenagers and younger children and everyone had a great time.

Amazing Experience

I took my team out Kayaking as part of our "team building" weekend and it was an amazing experience for all of us. Patrick could not have been nicer or more knowledgeable of the landscape and the area we were in. Spending time in the outdoors immersed in nature with a knowledgeable guide is a must when you come to the Burren! We will be back.

We had a lovely morning in Ballyvaughan, out on the water. The guides were very keen to share their knowledge of the sea, local area, local weather and local folklore. They were very patient and made sure we saw lots of seals and other sea creatures. We all felt very safe all the time and really enjoyed the experience, despite the incessant rain. I would highly recommend the experience and all our group would love to return.

A great outing in North Clare

Had a fabulous kayaking tour around Ballyvaughan Bay this morning with the North Clare Sea Kayaking Tour Company. It was a wet morning but we were not a bit cold with our wetsuits. We were complete novices to kayaking but it was all very straight forward and all age groups (11, 13, 15, 50+) managed to get the hang of it and thoroughly enjoyed our 2 hours out and about. We got to enjoy different views of our regular haunts in this part of Clare and the sights and sounds of sea and bird life. Patrick and Pádraig kept us well informed and safe and sound. Will definitely be back for another tour soon.

Definitely recommend!!!

Fantastic day out kayaking, spotted a seal, some crabs and jellyfish. Our guides were lovely and very knowledgeable about the area and the local wildlife. This was my second time on the tour and I will happily return!

A fantastic morning on the sea.

So much fun and the sea was absolutely beautiful. Both guides really helpful as me and my daughter hadn't a clue but we're delighted with ourselves.
